“This initiative will enhance the fishery industry of Sabah. We want to help the socio-economy of fishermen in

Sabah as the state is rich in marine life such as tuna,” he told reporters at a gathering with LKIM staff and Tawau fishermen here Saturday night.

The frozen fish centre will also serve as a model for more such centres to be set up in other parts of the country.

Meanwhile, Irmohizam said the proposed housing assistance for fishermen needed to be studied to arrive at a better mechanism. — Bernama
