SRI AMAN: The people should place racial unity and harmony as a priority to enhance political stability, economic prosperity and progress for the state and country.

Political stability will provide confidence to investors as the state needs foreign investments for continuous economic growth, says Lingga assemblywoman Simoi Peri.

She said Sarawakians have been role model to others where the people of diverse races, creed and religion live in peace and harmony.

“We ought to preserve this (unity) by living up to it and preserve this as a special trait among Sarawakians,” Simoi said at a Pre Christmas programme at Rumah Laka Lau, Seduku Lingga, Sri Aman here yesterday.

She also called on the people to continue supporting the Barisan Nasional (BN) government which has brought about tremendous development through its Government Transformation Programme (GTP) and also economic transformation initiatives.
