MIRI: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Lambir sub-branches, including new pro tem sub-branches, have mobilised their operations rooms and election machinery.
Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat, who is PBB Lambir chief, said this was to strengthen the party at grassroots level for the next state election.
“PBB Lambir was ready to face the coming election and work closely with other component parties to win the seat,” he said after attending the PBB Lambir election machinery meeting recently.
He said it was vital to strengthen the party at grassroots level to immediately identify issues on the ground as well as the people’s needs.
Ripin said the meeting was also to coordinate issues, programmes and activities planned.
The new PBB Lambir sub-branches are PBB Kampung Batu 8, PBB Taman Jelita, PBB Airport/Rait/Tukau and PBB Kampung Danau/Opak.
On the recent women’s event with Association of Wives of Ministers and Assistant Ministers of Sarawak (Sabati) president Datin Patinggi Datuk Jamilah Anu, who is wife of the Chief Minister, Ripin said 600 longhouse and village chiefs, 700 members of PBB Wanita Lambir and non-governmental organisation, as well as 1,000 youths from the constituency were present.
Ripin, who is a political secretary to Chief Minister, said the Lambir Festival would be held at the end of next month.
