KUCHING: Boulevard Shopping Mall launched their signature ‘Scarlet Charm: The Golden Monkey Triumph’ event featuring a host of performances and a street bazaar until Feb 5 in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.
Officiating at the launch yesterday was Kuching City South Council (MBKS) mayor Dato James Chan Khay Syn together with the management and staff of the mall.
Prior to the launch, patrons of the mall were entertained by the DJs from Myfm as well as the cast from ‘Huat The Fish’ who are in town for their movie promotion.
The movie’s leading casts including Jack Lim, Jeff Chin, Juztin Lan and Alvin Chong were also on stage to the excitement of the crowd which thronged the mall for the meet and greet session.
A Fai Chun exhibition of Chinese decoration will be held at the main stage of the mall’s new wing from 9am today.
A chinese orchestra performance will take centre stage at 8pm on Jan 22, Jan 24, Jan 30 and Jan 31.
Besides the orchestra, a dragon dance and wushu performance will be held on Jan 23 at 2pm followed by a 24 festival drums performance at 8pm on the same day.
Dance performances will also be held on Jan 24 at 2pm as well as on Jan 29 at 8pm. On Jan 30, a Magnum Event will be held at 10am.
On the last day of the event on Feb 5, there will be a northern lion dance performance at 2pm and a dance performance at 8pm.
On Feb 8 which is the first day of the Chinese New Year celebration, there will also be a lion dance performance at 2.30pm.
Meanwhile, Boulevard Shopping Mall will give customers free ang pow packets which come in four designs.
From Jan 15 to 20 the design will be wealth, Jan 21 to 25 (harvest), Jan 27 to 31 (health) and Feb 1 to 5 (longevity).
Customers can redeem the free ang pow packets at the reception counter.
