MIRI: The Muslim community in Bakong, Tinjar and Marudi are solidly behind Datuk Sylvester Entri Muran to be re-nominated BN candidate for Marudi constituency.

Coming from Kampung
Melayu, Bakong, Kampung Beluru Atas, Kampung Dagang Marudi, Kampung Narum, Benawak, Perumahan Marudi and Lapok Bazaar they urged aspiring candidates to stop giving sweet promises as the people don’t buy their election propaganda.

Penghulu Ayub Hassan said it was always Entri and the BN government that had come to help them and not the ‘express candidates’ who are seen only when the election is near.

He said Datu Dr Penguang Mangil, the aspiring candidate from SPDP, had not contributed to the people of Marudi unlike Entri “who had contributed a lot”.

With Entri’s contribution to the people of Marudi, it would be easy for him to win the Marudi seat, he pointed out.

“This will ensure that BN seat in Marudi will be secured as we have a capable winnable candidate, Entri, and I believe Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem’s recent announcement of Entri’s candidature is a wise decision,” he said.

Ketua Kaum Abdullah Piee from Kampung Dagang Marudi said the Muslim community in his village supported Entri as he had shown his sincerity in helping them.

Among his contributions to them, he said, were the grants for their mosque and village.

“Entri is a winnable candidate in Marudi and we are solidly behind him in the upcoming election,” he said further.

Sharing the view, Ketua Kaum Abdullah Samat from Kampung Melayu Beluru, Bakong said Muslim Penans there were pleased with Entri’s service.

He said last year Entri gave a grant of MR200,000 for the extension of Al Munir mosque in Beluru and yesterday Entri announced an additional RM150,000 for the community.

“We are supporting Entri as BN candidate for Marudi,” he assured.

On the opposition, he said they were only seen during election, shouting for changes and condemning the BN government and would not be seen after the election.
