SIBU: A local man lodged a police report here, claiming that his 11-year-old adopted son and a 20-year-old youth had stolen RM14,000 from him.
Following the report, police apprehended the two at 11.30pm on Sunday and place them under a three-day remand effective yesterday.
According to the complainant, he adopted the boy a year ago.
“I recently discovered that the money I saved for funeral expenses had gone missing. I kept the money in my house. I suspected that my adopted son and his friend had stolen the money,” the man said.
Police are investigating.
