KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Bhd has appointed Kuok Wee Kiat as a new Director to the Board of Directors of its subsidiaries, Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd and its clearing house, Bursa Malaysia Securities Clearing Sdn Bhd.
The appointment took effect yesterday.
Kuok has over 22 years of experience in the securities industry.
He is currently a Director of Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd and a member of the Appeals Committee of Bursa Malaysia.
He also holds directorships of Berjaya Capital Bhd and other private limited companies of Inter-Pacific Group, and was President of the Association of Stockbroking Companies of Malaysia from 1999 to 2000.
As of Feb 22, 2016, the Boards of Directors of these subsidiaries consist of three Directors of Bursa Malaysia and one independent Director.
They are Non-Executive Director and Public Interest Director Datuk Dr. Md Tap bin Salleh; Independent Non-Executive Director Datuk Saiful Bahri Zainuddin; Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Datuk Seri Tajuddin Atan; and Independent Director Kuok Wee Kiat. — Bernama
