Wireman gets six months for breaking into woman’s home

KUALA LUMPUR: A wireman who broke into a woman’s home last year was sentenced to six months’ jail by the Ampang magistrate’s court, here,yesterday.

Magistrate Ayuni Izzaty Sulaiman ordered S.Shasitharan, 21, to serve the sentence from Oct 20, 2015, the date of his arrest, after he pleaded guilty to the charge read out by the court interpreter in Tamil.

He was charged with breaking into the home of sales adviser Norazalia Jamaludin, 32, at 15-23, Flat Ria Mesra, Jalan Ikan Emas, Pandan Mewah, at 7.30pm on April 3, 2015.

The charge under Section 448 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to of three years or a fine of up to RM5,000, or both.

DPP Ahmad Zuhaini Mahamad Amin said Norazalia was awoken at 3.30am by noise in the kitchen and then saw Shasitharan peeping at her. Norazalia then let our a scream, causing Shasithatran to flee the scene.

However, at 7.30 am the same day, Shasithatran again broke into her home. Ahmad Zuhaini urged the court to pass a heavy sentence because Shasitharan’s actions had traumatised Norazalia. — Bernama
