Villager’s grisly find on Muara Tebas beach

B16030739KUCHING: It was a grisly find for the villager out to pick clams, instead stumbling on a dead man stranded on the beach of Kampung Selabat, Muara Tebas, Jalan Bako, here yesterday at around 1.45pm.

According to a statement from Kuching acting district police chief Supt Ernest John, the discovery was made when the villager went there to pick bamboo clams (‘ambal’) and saw the body, subsequently informing a maritime officer on duty.

The officer then alerted police and upon arrival at the scene, one boat with an officer and eight members of the Jalan Tabuan Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) went to retrieve the body.

There was no identification on the body which was sent to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) morgue for further action.
