MIRI: A 45-year-old woman driver had to be pulled out of her seat by Fire and Rescue Department personnel at 4.44pm Tuesday following an accident at KM62 of the coastal road here.

She was said to be involved in a head-on-collision with another vehicle.

Eight firemen from Miri fire station were mobilised to the scene upon receiving a distress call from members of the public, arriving at the scene at 5.45pm.

It took them several minutes to extricate the injured victim, who was trapped in her seat.

She was later rushed to Miri Hospital.

Meanwhile, four other individuals in the other vehicle escaped unharmed.

Police are still investigating the actual cause of the incident.
