Eureka! Clement sees art in bamboo-fungus

Kch-bp010416-eh-bamboo.p1 Kch-bp010416-eh-bamboo.p2KUCHING: A nature photographer Clement Sim recently stumbled upon several bamboo stems, which he described as ‘art created by nature’.

He said he found the masterpieces when he went hiking near a waterfall in Padawan area and it was the first time he has come across such a spectacular natural phenomenon.

Upon closer observation, he came to realise that the intricate patterns were actually made by a kind of fungus growing around the bamboo stems.

A staff of Anna Rais Longhouse Lodge in Padawan countryside said such marvels of nature are quite common in the jungle of that area.
