CYBERJAYA: Aries Telecoms (M) Bhd (Aries Telecom) has launched Aries Infinity, the region’s fastest Internet Protocal version 6 (IPv6) technology, that provides internet speeds of up to one gigabit per second (Gbps) to business users.

Its Chairman Datuk Zuraidi Rahim said Malaysia is now amongst the few countries in the world and the first in the region to be ‘wired’ with such technology.

With an investment of RM1 billion, he said, the high-speed technology, a collaboration between Aries Telecom and Setia Haruman Technology Sdn Bhd, is now available for all business owners residing in Cyberjaya.

“The collaboration is through the widest coverage of fibre optic infrastructure in Cyberjaya that has been laid by Setia Haruman, which covers almost all buildings in the township.

“Aries Infinity is an ultra-high speed broadband designed to meet the needs of these customers, including wireless and wireline carriers, media companies, Internet service providers, government departments and large enterprises,” he
told reporters after the IPv6 launch by Minister of Communications and Multimedia Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak today.

Zuraidi said Aries Infinity provides end-to-end IPv6 connectivity enabling peer-to-peer applications to work effectively and efficiently.

“It is currently the only business broadband that provides speeds of up to 1 Gbps with IPv6 enabled and gives users access to more than one million Internet Protocal (IP) addresses,” he said.

Zuraidi said Aries Telecom expects to expand Aries Infinity to other business hubs in the Klang Valley and other major cities in the country.

“Within six months, we will start to roll out to major towns in Johor, Penang and Perak,” he said.

For a month, Zuraidi said, the 1Gbps business broadband is now available in Cyberjaya as well as Cyberjaya Resort & Spa for free testing beginning today. The broadband can be subscribed at RM5,000 per month.
