SIBU: State BN chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem yesterday said some urban seats were ‘white’ areas for BN.

The Chief Minister disclosed this when asked if there were ‘grey’ areas among urban seats, where victory could go either way – to BN or the opposition – this coming state election.

“I don’t know how many (are grey areas in the urban). Of course, there are few ‘black’ areas; some ‘grey’ and some even ‘white’ areas,” he added.

He was speaking at a press conference after the Sejiwa Senada programme organised by RH group here.

On another matter, he said four people associated with Umno had been refused entry into Sarawak yesterday morning.

He named them as Jamal Md Yunos, who is Sungai Besar Umno division head and organiser of ‘Red Shirts’ Rally; Abdul Rahim Ibrahim, Ariffin Abu Bakar, chairman of Eratkan Perhubungan Antara Negeri Cetuskan Organisasi (Epanco) and retired Major Razali Zakaria of Pertubuhan Gerakan Martabat Pejuang Negara (GMPN).

“This is the answer to Chong (Chieng Jen) that we only ban opposition. These people are associated with Umno.”

Recently, Sarawak DAP urged Adenan to lift the entry ban on opposition politicians.

Chong had argued that the political activities of the opposition leaders who were denied entry were legitimate; hence, the ban was unreasonable and unlawful.

Chong had described as “not the slightest convincing” the reasons given for their ban.

Meanwhile, state BN secretary-general Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi said Jamal was barred from entering Sarawak for his involvement in racial and political movements recently in Kuala Lumpur that may cause negative impacts to the peace and harmony in the state.

He said this clearly showed that the state government did not differentiate and only bar the opposition.
