KUCHING: A heartbroken teenager was found hanged in his quarters at a carwash facility in Batu Kawah following a spat with his girlfriend that led her to end their relationship.
The 17-year-old victim, surnamed Chung, was discovered around 11.30pm on Thursday by his mother upon her arrival at his workplace after she was notified of her son’s distressed state of mind by his sister.
According to sources, Chung drank pesticide prior to slashing his left arm and then proceeded to post a photo of his bleeding arm on his Wechat social media account.
His stunned elder sister happened to view the photo and immediately contacted their mother, who rushed from her workplace at Jalan Ang Cheng Ho to the carwash.
The distraught pair hurried to the teen’s quarters only to find him hanging from the ceiling, and subsequently took his body down before rushing him to the Sarawak General Hospital.
But it was too late – as doctors inspected the teen but could do nothing except pronounce him dead.
Police have classified the case as sudden death pending further investigation.
