KUALA LUMPUR: Ice Holidays donated to four organisations involved in education, medicine and charity in conjunction with its 25th anniversary in the spirit of giving back to society.

The beneficiaries were Yayasan Bakti Nusa Malaysia, Tung Shin Hospital, SJKC Pin Hwa 1, and Rumah Victory.

Guests attending the dinner also took the initiative to donate.

Ice Holidays managing director Mita Lim Swee Kok thanked the donors.

“Tourism is a people-based industry. Apart from stressing on professionalism, attitude and quality of service for those in the industry, we should also be caring and accountable,” he said in his speech at the dinner recently.

“We are in an industry related to people. We should be grateful and not forget those who need our help.”

Noting that Malaysia was facing tough challenge internally and externally in terms of economy, Lim emphasised that it was even more challenging for outbound and inbound travel agencies.

Ice Holidays, he added, insisted on offering value for money packages without increasing the charges by providing four-star or even five-star hotel accommodation.

“We are grateful that our clients have placed us as their priority whenever they travel overseas,” he said.

Those who attended the dinner were Matta chairman Datuk Hamzah Rahmat and founder of Yayasan Bakti Nusa Malaysia Tan Sri Ong Tee Keat.

Ice Holidays, which is in a B2B business model in the tourism sector, works with more than 400 travel agencies in the country under its Golden Destinations brand.

It offers tour packages to Asia, Europe, United States, Oceania (Australia and countries in southern continent).

Lim pointed out in the recently concluded international travel Matta Fair and the pre-Matta promotional activities, the Golden Destinations packages were still like hotcakes despite the challenging circumstances.

“Last year, the number of tourists registering with us increased. I hope all travel agency partners get even better resultas this year,” he added.

During the dinner, Ice Holidays Sdn Bhd also announced winners for the 2015 Book & Win contest. The grand prize was a Perodua Axia.
