MIRI: Fajar International College (FIC) is now ISO 9001:2008 certified. The registration schedule was handed over to college CEO Dr Peter Tham by consultant Dr Jacinta Francis on April 15 during the opening ceremony of the college’s new campus at Sevenew Commercial Centre here.

With this certification, FIC is now recognised as having achieved an international standard for its quality management in the scope of provision of educational programmes.

Since its inception, FIC has in many ways gained the faith and trust from the relevant authorities and its graduates in its past and current performances as a premier higher education provider to school leavers and working adults.

FIC is the first and by far the only education provider to offer the DipOSH (Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health) that is recognised by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Malaysia (DOSH) and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, UK.

FIC can in fact be considered as the premier college in East Malaysia to offer OSH programmes as this is the first Diploma in OSH programme here which gains recognition from DOSH, besides Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) accreditation in East Malaysia. As such, graduates can register themselves as ‘Safety & Health Officer’ or SHO with DOSH upon completion and with three years of relevant working experience.

FIC’s Diploma in Accounting, which incorporates the new scheme of the Certified Accounting Technician programme (CAT) of ACCA, enables graduates of this programme to earn multiple qualifications after completing their studies.

Other programmes that FIC is offering includes the Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) and the Diploma in Human Resources Management (DHRM); both have gained full accreditation from MQA. FIC invites applications from prospective students for the May intake for all the programmes. Aspiring students can call 085 – 491448 or visit its official website at: www.fic.edu.my.
