KUCHING: PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said he does not want to file a formal request to extend his stay in the state.

Speaking during a PKR rally held at Siburan town today (April 30), he commented that he will leave it to the people of Sarawak to decide what type of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem is.

“The state of Sarawak belongs to the people of Sarawak, not Adenan alone himself. Although we respect the rights of Sarawak and its people, he cannot treat Sarawak like it is his own state and bar anyone he pleases,” he said.

Azmin, who is Selangor Menteri Besar, was officially informed by an Immigration Department officer upon his arrival at Kuching International Airport yesterday (April 29) that he would have to leave the state by May 2 and would not be allowed to re-enter until polling day on May 7.

It was revealed today that the chief minister is willing to consider extending both Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali’s stay in Sarawak upon receiving their formal requests.
