Minister supports Banjarbaru Stadium relocation

BANJARBARU, South Kalimantan: Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi supports Banjarbaru Mayor Nadjmi Adhani policy to relocate the stadium, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

“We support the relocation, but the new stadium should be better in physical as well as the facilities,” said Sports Minister, while reviewing the Mini Stadium Gawi Sabarataan in Banjarbaru, Saturday.

His visit to the Gawi Sabarataan Mini Stadium was accompanied by Mayor Nadjmi Adhani and Deputy Mayor Darmawan Jaya Setiawan. Mayor described the condition of the stadium,

According to minister, the new stadium should also pay attention to the terms as a stadium, both area and its facilities that it can be fully utilized.

“The area to be built should be integrated, that several sports could utilize, and it accommodate an audience of up to 40 thousand people,” said the PKB cadres.

Mayor Nadjmi Adhani said, the old stadium relocated to a new location about 15 kilometers in distance in an area up to three times of size.

“The new stadium of at least 20 hectares of area, where facilities and support facilities for some sports will be built to make it a sport center,” he said.

The planning for a new stadium has come to DED (detailed engineering design) which will be continued to maturation of the land before it is built.

“Our target, the physical construction could begin early in 2017 and the early stages of the budget will be prepared through a budget amendment in 2016, so earlier this year could be built,” he said.

According to him, the old stadium area which covers 3.8 hectares will be used as a substitute location of Bauntung market that is no longer feasible because of limited land.
