Dentsu Malaysia was crowned the Overall Creative Ideas MARKie winner for recording the most Best Ideas wins at the Advertising + Marketing Magazine’s 7th Annual Agency of the Year Awards 2016 held in Kuala Lumpur recently.

Dentsu Malaysia was crowned the Overall Creative Ideas MARKie winner for recording the most Best Ideas wins at the Advertising + Marketing Magazine’s 7th Annual Agency of the Year Awards 2016 held in Kuala Lumpur recently.

KUCHING: Amidst fierce competition, Dentsu Aegis Network (Dentsu) walked away with a total of 11 metals, making it the agency network with the most MARKies won at the Advertising + Marketing Magazine’s 7th Annual Agency of the Year Awards 2016 held in Kuala Lumpur.

Of the 11 awards won by Dentsu, two which are Agency of the Year awards and nine are MARKies wins.

Commenting on the achievements, Nicky Lim, chief executive officer of Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia said, “Another great showing by all our brands and I’m very proud of their works of brilliance.

“Dominating the MARKies is a grand feat, given that our work was judged solely by the people that really matter, the senior client-marketers. This in indeed a testament to our strengths in delivering innovative solutions to clients.”

The ceremony contained two distinct awards – the Agency of the Year, which evaluates an agency’s business as a whole, and the MARKies, which assesses the work or specific campaigns produced by an agency.

Dentsu Malaysia led the tally with five MARKies wins – Best Idea for Integrated Media, Radio, Launch and Print. It emerged as the best performing agency across all Creative Ideas categories and took home the Overall Creative Ideas MARKie award.

Carat Malaysia bagged three awards for Best Use of TV and Print, as well as Best Idea for Consumer Events; while Vizeum Malaysia won Best Use of Out-of-Home.

In the Agency of the Year segment, Carat Malaysia snared a Silver for Media Agency of the Year, while Consider iProspect won the Local Hero award for Digital Agency of the Year, an inaugural win for the digital marketing agency that is only 28 months old.

The MARKies is a celebration of the most innovative, creative and effective campaigns spanning Malaysia’s entire marketing services industry. The MARKies evaluates individual entries by focusing on campaigns, creative ideas or the innovative use of media.

Dentsu Malaysia and Carat Malaysia’s work on Permanis Sandilands’ ‘Mountain Dew Neonises Malaysia’ campaign was arguably the best campaign of the night as it was the single most awarded campaign, winning the Best Idea for integrated Media, Launch and Print, as well as the Best Use of Print. Another Permanis campaign, ‘Wonda Restarts Your Day’ was awarded the Best Idea for Radio.

Carat Malaysia also took one home for Permanis for its campaign on Tropicana, winning the Best Idea for Consumer Events, while its work for AirAsia earned it the Best Use of TV award. Vizeum Malaysia delivered award-winning work for Nippon Paint in the Best Use of OOH category.
