SAMALAJU: Press Metal Bintulu conducted a blood donation campaign here on Saturday, where 150 of its employees took part.

This annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) event allowed staff members to contribute to Bintulu Hospital blood bank, as well as to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation.

“This is one of many ways for Press Metal Bintulu to contribute to society, as each bag of blood brings new hope to those in need,” said its head of smelting division Choa Wei Keong.

“We hope that the blood donated would help supplement the supply at the blood bank. This is a small contribution, but we will continue this effort as such contribution can save several lives,” he said at the opening ceremony. Choa’s text of speech was read by Press Metal Bintulu senior manager for casting Teo Chen Hone.
