MIRI: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Pujut Women’s wing yesterday presented a donation to fire victim Norlia Lampan, whose Piasau Jaya house was burnt down last week.

Chairperson councillor Laila Mohamad and her exco committee members were present for the handover.

“This is part of PBB Pujut Women’s wing’s welfare activities to help those who need assistance even though not much, but it can help ease the burden of Norlia as the fasting month and Hari Raya celebration are just around the corner,” she said.

“We are also calling on NGOs (non-governmental organisations) and other organisations to come forward to help Norlia in whatever way they can.”

Laila said the PBB Women’s wing would continue to hold activities to help the less fortunate during the month of Ramadan.

“During the coming fasting month, not only will we help the less fortunate but also comply with Islam in giving to the orphans or less fortunate which is a good deed to society,” she said.

The Women’s wing also plans to hold a Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering to enhance rapport.

Meanwhile, Norlia thanked the PBB Pujut Women’s wing and other organisations that have helped her in this time of need.

“Only God can repay their good deeds for helping me. God bless them all,” she said.
