KOTA KINABALU: Six vehicles, including a motorcycle, were seized by the police here during Ops Samseng Jalanan yesterday.
City police chief ACP M Chandra said the operation was conducted throughout the city early yesterday morning.
The areas included Jalan Lintas, Jalan UMS, 1Borneo and Likas, he said, adding that the vehicles seized would be investigated under Section 60 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
During the operation, two drivers were taken to the district police station for further tests after an initial test showed them to be positive for alcohol. They, however, passed the later test as the alcohol level in their blood was below the permitted level.
“During the operation, a total of 20 cars and six motorcycles were checked along with 40 people who were vetted,” he said.
Chandra added that police would continue to monitor any illegal activities in the state capital.
