LABUAN: Labuan Corporation (LC) is always at the ready to provide necessary assistance to the business community, especially investors, said Department of Planning and Building Control Director Ibrahim Tambi.
He said this included providing information on the future development of the duty-free island.
“My department is responsible for turning Labuan into a well-balanced, developed island.
“Thus, we are always prepared to brief any parties, be it private companies, investors, business organisations or non-governmental organisations on business and industry potentials here,” he said.
He said this in a presentation on Labuan’s current and future developments to the Malay Traders and Industrialists Association of Malaysia (Perdasama) here, yesterday. Ibrahim also said that although Labuan’s economy was affected by the current volatility in the oil and gas sector, the corporation would continue to play its role as a facilitator in investment and entrepreneurial matters.
Meanwhile, Perdasama President Datuk Moehamad Izat Emir said the association planned to work together with LC for the betterment of its members.
“Maybe we can host international exhibitions like bringing in large vessels or business fora here,” he added. — Bernama
