TAWAU: The people should revert to the time when there was tolerance among the various religions and family values and friends, said Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid.

She said the people should look after unity and security without regard as to what religion and there must be tolerance instead of fanatics or extremist.

“Islamic State (IS) is ruthless and not Islam, and these people are fanatics until they are willing to kill innocent people. I hope Malaysia will not become like this,” she said yesterday during her Hari Raya open house.

She called on the police to take stern action against such people and also called on the people to revert back to earlier times.

She also urged families to keep a close watch on their family members especially their internet activities as there are pedophiles and scams on the internet.

Meanwhile, Jainab said she also supported the on-going curfew on the Sabah east coast and the ban on barter trade as many goods meant for the people were smuggled out.
