KUCHING: Security in Matang near here is expected to be further enhanced with the construction of a police station in the area.
Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said the project is expected to be completed in October this year and will bring much relief to folks in the area.
“We could not rely solely on the police to prevent crime but have to work together to curb crime in our neighbourhood,” he said when met at his Hari Raya open house held at Custom Academy Hall in Matang here yesterday.
On another note, Fazruddin said he was satisfied with the implementation of development projects in his constituency.
“Some projects are slightly delayed like the construction of a four-lane road from Matang E-Mart to Stapok/ Batu Kawah but the Works Ministry and Public Work Department had assured that the project was running smoothly.”
