KOTA KINABALU: The Super Star Sabah Concert, featuring renowned Hong Kong artiste G.E.M., awed thousands of fans at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Chancellor Hall here on Saturday night.
Apart from G.E.M, the concert goers were entertained to a line-up of performances by Taiwanese artistes AJ, Lollipop F, Genie, Lara, Esther and Sabahan singer JY Chong.
The event was organized by Gig Studio Entertainment Sdn Bhd, presented by 999 Bar and co-organized by Dream Factory Entertainment, Airworld Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd and Sabah Labuan Motion Picture Traders and Entertainment Association (Slamptea).
During a press conference earlier in the afternoon, G.E.M said she hoped to introduce her new album entitled ‘Heartbeat’ to her fans in Sabah.
If need be, G.E.M said, she would fight for an opportunity for a meet-and-greet session with her Sabahan fans.
“Fans are number one to me. If there is new tour concert in the future, I will definitely come to Malaysia,” she promised.
Last year, tickets to ‘G.E.M. X.X.X. Live World Tour in Malaysia’, held in Kuala Lumpur, were sold out within days. For that, G.E.M. thanked Malaysian fans for their support in her first concert in the country. At the same time, she promised to return to Malaysia for future concerts.
On the other hand, G.E.M admitted that it was her first trip to Sabah and she hoped to visit the Land Below the Wind again to dive in our waters.
“If there is an opportunity to return to Sabah, I hope to experience the culture, food, diving, water sports and other activities here,” she said.
