MIRI: Narcotics police here arrested two unemployed men in a budget hotel on suspicion of drug addiction and possession yesterday morning.
During the raid, police also found a small transparent plastic packet believed to contain an illegal substance Syabu or Meth Ice.
The arrest was made around 10.30am in Lutong, following a tip-off.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had checked into the budget hotel on Aug 5. Both suspects, aged 21 and 42, are currently held in the police lock-up for questioning.
The suspects have been tested positive for drug use. The case is being investigated under Section 12 and 15 of the Dangerous Drug Act 1953.
