MIRI: There is no word yet from Interpol regarding the whereabouts of Datuk Stephen Lee Chee Kiang, the alleged mastermind in the murder of social activist Bill Kayong here on June 21.
“We have not received any feedback from Interpol yet,” said state CID chief SAC Dev Kumar when contacted in Kuching yesterday.
Bill was killed with a shotgun at the traffic light junction near Emart in Tudan on June 21.
Mohamad Fitri Pauzi, 29, has been charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for the murder while Lie Chang Loon, 37, was charged with abetment.
Besides Lee, 45, police are also looking for KTV Lounge owner Kong Sien Ming, 35, and Chin Wui Chung, 50, who was Lee’s personal assistant.
Asked about Lee’s gun licence, which is renewable on June 30, Dev Kumar said a statement on this matter would be issued soon.
Dev Kumar recently said Lee fled to Singapore from Miri on June 23 and left Singapore for Melbourne, Australia, on July 3. His present location is unknown.
Members of the public with information about these three suspects are urged to alert police.
