Today, Xiaomi has officially announced Xiaomi Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus in China. Xiaomi Mi 5S is the world’s first smartphone that features under glass ultrasonic fingerprint scanner which captures a more accurate map of the finger that is harder to spoon, works through multiple materials, and is immune to surface contaminants such as sweat and condensation.
Xiaomi Mi 5S comes with a 5.15 inch display and powered by Snapdragon 821 processor. It has two different variants of memory option which are 3GB RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. Both variants support UFS 2.0 storage.
Xiaomi Mi 5S offers a 12MP rear camera which has a 1/2.3 inch sensor size and it is similar to the ones found in compact cameras. Xiaomi Mi 5s 3GB RAM + 64GB storage will be sold at the price CNY 1,999 (roughly RM 1,239), while the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage will be sold at the price CNY 2,299 (roughly RM 1,424).
Other than Xiaomi Mi 5S, Xiaomi also unveiled Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus that comes with 5.7 inch display and powered by Snapdragon 821.
Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus is available in two memory options such as 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. Both variants embodied with UFS 2.0 storage and NFC.
However, it is worth mentioning that Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus does not support under glass ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, but Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus feature a 13MP dual rear cameras.
The Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus 4GB RAM + 64GB storage will be sold at the price of CNY 2,299 (roughly RM 1,424), while the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage will be available at the price of CNY 2,599 (roughly RM 1,611).
