KUCHING: The Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) is sending a 36-strong contingent to participate in the annual FESMAS held in Putrajaya from Nov 7-12.

The event, organised by the National Sports Council for the staff of sports councils in Malaysia, includes tenpin bowling, golf, carrom, karaoke, darts, volleyball as well as new events Dragon Boat Race and Fesmas Warrior, an obstacle race.

MSNS assistant director Abdul Mutalib Haji Mohamad, who is leading the team, said Sarawak is participating in all the events including the two new ones.

He said the Putrajaya venue is because the organisers wanted to promote the place as it also has a lake ideal for water sports.

Mutalib said Sarawak are aiming to do well in carrom as they have been champions for the past three years as well as karoake.
