SIBU: A record 11 teams are vying for the President’s Cup in a table tennis tournament which begins at the Ping Pong Hall in Merdeka Road here today.
Sibu Table Tennis Association (STTA) president Temenggong Datuk Vincent Lau Lee Ming is to open the competition at 2pm.
STTA secretary Desmond Ling said 11 teams for the annual competition was a record of sorts. The 11 teams are Antidrugs Agency, Paragon Amber Sdn Bhd, Hua Team, Grolite, I Love Yoo, RH Group, Bsmart Interior Design & Contracts, Dek Pu Construction Sdn Bhd, Gao Chu Bu Sheng Hang, Ling Ling Hou and D-tech OA Sdn Bhd. Matches are scheduled today from 2pm-5pm and tomorrow from 9am to noon and 2pm-5pm, before STTA chairman Dr Clement Cheng closes the tourney. — by Philip Wong
