Hap Seng launches Christmas celebration with public

KOTA KINABALU: Hap Seng has kicked off its month-long celebration ‘Christmas with Love’@Plaza Shell for the upcoming festivities.

Hap Seng Credit Sdn Bhd East Malaysia general manager Joanne Wendy Chung said the free-for-all program would kick off with the December 9 and 10 Christmas Frozen themed activities designed for the public from all ages and walks of life between 10am and 4pm at Plaza Shell main lobby.

Entry and parking will be free on both days and early birds will be treated with free theme goodie giveaways.

Visitors can also participate in activities to stand a chance to win special prizes, whilst being entertained with the saxophone and piano stylings of Infinite Duo, and listening to live Christmas caroling.

In addition, multiple family activities will also be held, such as face painting, and children can participate in a costume contest as Frozen’s characters as Elsa, Anna and Olaf to stand a chance to win special gift-sets.

The animated cartoon characters will also make an appearance during that time and 3D Frozen Castle will be erected for picture sessions.

Besides that, Santa Clause and his Santarinas will also be there to give away more goodies to visitors on both days.

“We want to make it known to the public that Plaza Shell is open to the public. There is a constant perception of people that it is out of bounds for people who are not working here,” said Chung, adding even on normal days spending RM10 on any Plaza Shell outlets would get visitors free parking for the first two hours.

According to Hap Seng Properties Development Sdn Bhd Caroline Yong Yah Fui, Plaza Shell had achieved close to 90% occupancy of retail tenants.

She added Hap Seng secured 60% to 70% office space occupancy in the beginning of 2016 and today 80% of the office space have been taken up since opening at the end of 2015.

“We are trying very hard to promote our tenants, to make their presence felt and to make this building (Plaza Shell) approachable for people to come in here, not just for official functions,” said Carol, adding Hap Seng was also planning to host more family oriented events and activities in the future at Plaza Shell.

Aside from existing eateries like Pregio, Ratatouille, Gateau House, SugarBun and Hong Kong Cafe, additional outlets will also be opening on the third week of December.

One of the major outlets is D’ Place, a popular restaurant serving local Kadazan-Dusun cuisine, will also be organizing the Aramaiti Session with D’ Place program, which includes a Kadazan Dusun Cultural Dance and Butod Challenge or local sago worm delicacy eating competition, on December 16.

Majority of tenants are also hosting activities during the month-long celebration at Plaza shell.

AmBank will organize the AmBank Colouring Contest from 1pm to 4pm on December 13, and Gateau House will host a Cake Decorating Workshop from 10am to 4pm on December 17 at the Plaza Shell Main Lobby.

Visitors aged 12 to 25 will have a chance at winning Free Golden Screen Cinema (GSC) Movie and Popcorn Combo vouchers by clicking Like on Plaza Shell KK Facebook page, posting a selfie or wefie anywhere at Plaza Shell with the caption ‘Christmas with Love@Plaza Shell and tagging at least five friends on Facebook.

The event will be held from 10am to noon on December 19 at Plaza Shell lobby area.

Stand a chance to win the grand prize of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, or second prize Samsung Galaxy A9 and third prize Samsung Galaxy A5 through the Treasure Hunt competition.

The contest period is from December 13 to 28 and winners will be announced on January 3 through the Plaza Shell KK Facebook Page.

Another seven consolation dining vouchers of RM100, applicable at Plaza Shell eateries only, are also up for grabs through the competition.

Only one entry is permitted per person and the registration forms can be collected at Hap Seng Credit office on the Plaza Shell ground floor.

Visitors also stand a chance to win cash prizes of RM2,000, RM1,000 and RM500 through the Plaza Shell Photography Contest 2016.    The submission deadline is on December 24 for all Malaysian and Permanent Residents of Malaysia except Hap Seng employees as well as their immediate employees.
