Harith Iskander crowned ‘Funniest Person in the World’ after winning comedy contest

Malaysian comedian Harith Iskander is now officially the ‘Funniest Person in the World’, according to comedy club chain Laugh Factory.

Harith and fellow comedians Mino van Nassau from India, Alex Calleja from Philippines, Katerina Vrana from Greece and David Kilimnick from Israel performed in the finals of the ‘The Funniest Person in the World’ competition at the Hullu Polo Arena in Levi, Finland on Dec 8.

Viewers and members of the public were then given the opportunity to vote for who they thought was most deserving of the title in a global online voting process after the finals.

Harith beat the other finalists to emerge the champion, winning himself a cash prize of USD$100,000 in the process along with the title.

A total of 89 competitors from 56 countries participated in the competition, which ran from Dec 4 to Dec 8 in Helsinki, Finland.
