KUCHING: A 16-year-old student was killed after the motorbike he was riding crashed into a van along Kuching-Sri Aman Road on Sunday.
The youth from Kampung Telagus, Simunjan, was pronounced dead at the scene after succumbing to his injuries.
In the accident that took place around 5.30pm, the youth is said to be turning into a junction when he crashed into the van.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead by the paramedics despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call.
The body was sent to Serian Hospital.
The van driver was unhurt.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
