KUCHING: Family members attending the police constable trainees’ passing out parade at the Kuching Police Training Centre (Pulapol) on Saturday (Jan 14) at 7am, have been advised to start their journey at least an hour earlier.

Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said this is to avoid traffic jams as some 2,000 vehicles are expected to make their way to Kuching Pulapol at the same time.

“Officers and personnel from Padawan district police Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division have been directed to be on alert for traffic control, especially at Mile 15 Jalan Kuching-Serian traffic light and the intersection nearby Sarawak Prisons Department, Jalan Puncak Borneo heading to Pulapol Kuching,” he said in a press statement recently.

Aidil said if the journey to Pulapol Kuching is made at least an hour earlier than the expected journey duration during normal days, it is highly likely that traffic congestion can be minimised and all family members of trainees would be able to arrive at the venue before the start of the parade.

He said Pulapol Kuching has provided parking spaces for vehicles inside and outside the training centre for parents and family members of the trainees.
