KUCHING: iM Sarawak contributed new school bags and One World Futbols to nearly 200 students from SK Airport, SK Long Segaham and SK Nanga Telawan in Belaga recently.

These students from lower-income families are studying at schools which are located in the interior of Belaga that are only accessible by boat.

1Malaysia Sarawak Advisory Council (1MSAC) member Datuk Billy Abit Joo said iM Sarawak was delighted to be a part of this effort to help motivate the students to attend school.

“iM Sarawak believes that education is the key to improving one’s life and through this small contribution, it hopes to help lessen the financial burden of parents’ expenditure as their children start the new school year.

“We hope that such efforts can motivate other organisations to come forward to help the people of Belaga,” he remarked.

Also present were Hulu Rajang MP Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong and SK Airport headmistress Florence Kavang Mukah.
