LIMBANG: The Malay-Kedayan community in Limbang have full confidence in the leadership of Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg as the new Chief Minister of Sarawak.

Pemanca Alie Jahar said the newly minted Chief Minister, popularly known as Abang Jo, is easily approachable and close to the people and will

continue the good work laid down by the late Adenan who was loved by all races and communities in the state for his fairness and sincerity.

The community leader said the appointment of Abang Jo was spot on in continuing the mandate given by the people in the last state election.

“I am confident that Abang Jo will continue the struggles left behind by Tok Nan, because he has vast experience in politics, particularly in PBB as the backbone of the state BN in Sarawak, “ he said.

In the same measure, he believed the chief minister will chart out his own development plan in moving Sarawak

forward to becoming a developed state.

“He has wide experience and understands the needs of the people, particularly in northern Sarawak where there is still much to be developed,“ he said.

He pointed to the Pan Borneo Highway project, second Limbang Bridge, Ranggau Valley, roads and basic infrastructures for tourism as priority projects.

Pemanca Alie also hoped that Abang Jo would also be vocal in highlighting the rights and aspirations of Sarawakians to the federal government.
