BINTULU: Two local men were arrested yesterday in connection with 15 house break-in cases around Bintulu.

Bintulu police chief Supt Zailanni Amit said the two suspects were detained at two different locations between 12.15am and 4.30am under Section 457 of the Penal Code.

The first suspect, aged 25, was arrested at his house in Taman Ginseng, Kampung Kemunting around 12.15am and police seized a mobile phone.

A total of 17 stolen items were confiscated from the second suspect aged 40, who was arrested at his house in Kampung Baru around 4.30am.

Among the seized items are two televisions, two laptops, a sewing machine, a micro stewpot, a water filter, two machetes, a hand-drill, a watch, a Mr Mark tool set, a dining set, a Skybox, a handbag and a pearl jewellery box.

According to Zailanni, from the interrogation, the first suspect confessed to breaking into 10 houses by himself and five other houses with the second suspect between 8pm and 5am.
