KUCHING: A total of 32 recipients from various associations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) here received their grants from the Minister of Local Government Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian at SUPP headquarters here yesterday.

According to Dr Sim, the grants were meant to lighten their burden when carrying out activities to benefit society.

“This is a small token on our part for all these people who are doing good things for the state,” said Dr Sim, who is also SUPP president, prior to the start of the simple handing over ceremony.

He also hoped that in 2017, more assistance could be provided to various associations to support their causes more effectively.

“If possible, I would also want everybody to play a part to build a better Sarawak and a better society for all,” said Dr Sim.

Among those present were political secretary to the chief minister Tan Kai and SUPP Youth central publicity and information secretary Milton Foo.
