KOTA KINABALU: A government officer was detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for receiving a RM1,290 bribe at Wisma Muis in Sembulan yesterday.
MACC Sabah director Datuk Shaharom Nizam Abdul Manap said the arrest was made yesterday at Wisma Muis around 10.30am.
“The complainant, a 50-year-old bus operator, lodged a report to MACC claiming to have received a telephone call from the suspect asking for RM1,290 in return to process the former’s Interim Stage Bus Support Fund,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Shaharom said the 37-year-old suspect had been detained and the case would be investigated under Section 17 (a) of the MACC Act 2009.
