Elementary student survives from kidnapping

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: A student of Elementary School (SD) survived from kidnappings. The perpetrator currently in pursuit by the local police, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

“It’s true, we get report of abductions of an elementary school student,” said East Banjarmasin Sector Police Chief Commissioner Dese Yulianti here on Tuesday.

She said the victim was Siti Maimunah (8), grade two in her school SDN Pekapuran Raya 1, East Banjarmasin.

Based on the report from the chief of neighborhood (RT) 26, where the child resides, she was found.

According to Dese, Siti Maimunah allegedly brought by a stranger man while playing near her home with friends.

Siti Maimunah was invited by the man with a reason to ask her the way to Youth Sport Center. It was around 16:30 pm Tuesday afternoon.

Information from witness, Siti Maimunah brought by someone with the characteristics of riding Jupiter motorcycle and wearing a silver and black jacket.

While the victim herself said, she was invited to go around the city, but the child was struggling. The perpetrator hit her in the head, then dropped her off at the roadside.

In a state of crying, the girl was rescued by a citizen who handed her over to the Traffic Police Station at Km 6 Banjarmasin.

“Because the child missing information have been spread through whatsapp member (police), then the traffic police who knew the child was victim of attempted abduction immediately drove her to her parents’ house,” said Dese.

Police appealed to all parents to supervise their children when playing in order not to become victims of kidnapping and immediately report if seen any such criminal actions.
