SARIKEI: A host of events have been drawn up for Pesta Terubok organised in conjunction with the Daro District Day 2017 celebration slated for March 10 until 26.
District Information officer Khushairi Suhaibo said the event is set to kick off with the launching of a three-day Mobile Community Transformation Centre programme at Kampung Penasu here today.
That will be followed by a Jerayawara Kerja programme organised by the Labour Department at Kie Ming Kindergarten, Daro on March 14 and 15.
Visitors will be thrilled by a powerboat race to be held at the Daro Waterfront on March 18 and 19.
A ‘gotong-royong’ activity to clean up the town’s waterfront and a thanksgiving gathering at Tunku Abdul Rahman mosque will be held on March 23.
Meanwhile, Daro Kitchen will open on March 23 to 26 offering various local delicacies to visitors.
There will be a karaoke competition themed ‘Best of Patrick Khamis’ collection and hit songs of the sixties’ on March 24.
Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad will officiate at the opening ceremony of the 17-day festivities on March 25.
Other exciting activities are stage performances by invited artistes; Running Man Terubok version; Pesta Terubok Beauty contest; ‘Bermukun’ and cultural performances. There will also be aerobic exercise; traditional games; blowpipe competition; archery demonstration; poco-poco and futsal competitions.
