Chief Minister to close two-day Idecs 2017 today

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to wrap up and close the two-day International ICT Infrastructure and Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (Idecs) 2017 today.

Business FM producer and presenter Freda Liu will be moderating the conference wrap-up session from 2pm to 5pm while Abang Johari is expected to deliver his wrap-up speech at 3.30pm.

Abang Johari and State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani are the honoured panellists during the session.

Other panellists are NZ Natural Beef and Lamb Limited executive director Ahmad Zainudin, Independent Data Services chief executive officer Reuben Wee, Portrade managing director Peter Yap, Australian Computer Society president Anthony Wong, Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Dato Teo Tien Hiong, Grab Malaysia country head Sean Goh, Huawei Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd vice- president Foo Fang Yong, World Bank Digital Strategy and Government Analytics adviser Randeep Sudan, Neuroware.io co-founder and chief executive officer Mark Smalley, International Data Corporation head of IDC Asia/Pacific government and education Gerald Wang, and Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre executive director Ehon Chan.

Prior to the wrap-up session, Abang Johari is expected to witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the state government and Huawei Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd.

The MoU will be signed by Morshidi on behalf of the state government and Foo for Huawei Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd.
