SIBU: The Sehati Sejiwa programme aims to foster closer relationship between the government and the people.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun said it offers the opportunity for government departments and agencies to listen to the people’s problems and find the best ways to solve them.

“Besides that, the Sehati Sejiwa Programme also aims to get feedback from the people at the respective areas and to come up with better planning in organising new programmes in the future.

“So I want to urge all the heads of the various government departments and ministries to go to the ground as often as possible so that they can see for themselves the problems faced by the people and only then they can have a much better understanding of what is actually going on,” he said when speaking at the Sehati Sejiwa Programme With Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office at Rumah Jangit Lanting, Sungai Igu, Selangau recently.

Entulu added that the programme was a continuation of a similar programme held last year at Rh Jaraw, Sungai Plan in Bintulu; Rh Jelaping, Tatau in Bintulu as well as Rumah Assan Ngang, Nanga Medamit in Limbang.

“Thus, I hope that this programme will be continued in the future for other divisions as it helps to create a platform to share precious ideas and experiences as well as providing opportunity to have a face-to-face dialogue with the people,” he said.

A career and government services exhibition, community health programme, fire fighting demonstration and many other activities were held during the programme.

At the same occasion, Entulu who is also Member of Parliament for Selangau distributed MRP grants totalling RM888,000 to 79 village security and development committees under Selangau parliamentary constituency.
