The 16 finalists who will be competing at the 2017 PEBEDAS Kumang Gawai this May 13.
SIBU: Sixteen finalists will be competing for the 2017 Sarawak Dayak Youth Organisation (PEBEDAS) Kumang Gawai beauty pageant on May 13 at Good Happiness Restaurant.
The event is organised in conjunction with Sibu PEBEDAS Pre-Gawai Night and will start at 6pm.
The contestants are Alice Rebut, Lizleona Kennedy Ating, Santi Majang, Rachel Lan Minggat, Evie Sendi Ibil, Stephenie Glenn, Renahisda Ismail, Evelyn Singgok, Angeline Miah Jubin, Valentiny Ekoh, Valerie Michelle Alli, Wati Assan, Rechel Demah John, Sharron Valiny Nanong, Noranie Roseline and Piarentinie Intan Jawi.
All 16 contestants made it through the preliminary round held last Sunday at Star Mega Mall, which was attended by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and Selangau MP Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun and his wife Datin Jacklyn Anthony.
Also present at the event was PEBEDAS president Alexander Frederick and Sibu PEBEDAS chairman Mathew Moilan.
The champion of Kumang Gawai PEBEDAS 2017 will walk away with a RM2,000 cash prize, while the second and third place winners will take home RM1,200 and RM800 respectively.
In addition to the cash, the top three winners will also take home other prizes.
Consolation prize winners will each receive a RM150 cash prize while the winner of the Miss Photogenic title will be given RM500.
Tickets for the Sibu PEBEDAS Pre-Gawai Night dinner are still available at RM550 or RM850 per table.
