KOTA KINABALU: The United Sabah Dusun Association (USDA) will be holding its state-level Tadau Kaamatan celebration in Ranau on May 19 and 20, its president, Datuk Ewon Ebin, said.
The celebration this year would focus on the traditional food of the Dusun community in the Ranau district, Ewon said, adding that 13 USDA zones from the district would be serving local favourite dishes from their respective areas.
According to Ewon, the celebration would kick off with the ‘Bontugan Kaamatan USDA 2017’ or singing competition on May 19 and culminate with the crowing of the Runduk Ngadau USDA 2017 on May 20.
“Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman is scheduled to officiate at the celebration which will be held at the Ranau sports complex at 11am,” Ewon who is also Ranau member of parliament, disclosed.
Stalls would be set up at the Ranau Sports Complex and these would be occupied by the 13 zones as well as government agencies and departments, he said and added that there would also be a session for the traditional sports competition.
“USDA extends its invitation to everyone in Sabah to come and join in the celebrations. They can sample the local cuisine as well as get to know more about the Dusun culture and traditions,” he said.
