Man returns after jail term to find house emptied by thieves

SIBU: A man who served a two-month jail sentence returned to find his home at Nuri Road almost emptied by thieves on Friday. The 48-year-old served his sentence from March 13 to May 19.

Stolen were a television set, an iPad, air-conditioners and compressors, a refrigerator, a water filter set, all his shirts and trousers, car tyres,  batteries, a door alarm and CCTV sets, car part and other miscellaneous items. He also found the gate of his house torn down by the thieves. Losses from the burglary have not been estimated.

The victim was a former hairdresser before he was imprisoned for drug related offences.

After he went to jail, his wife returned to Mukah, leaving the house empty for two months.
