PUTRAJAYA: No Malaysian was involved in this morning’s incident at Resorts World Manila when a lone gunman fired several shots which caused loss of innocent lives, injuries and damage to property.

In confirming this in a statement here today, the Foreign Ministry said the Malaysian Embassy in Manila was closely monitoring the incident with local authorities.

It also advised Malaysians in that country to exercise vigilance as well as follow instructions issued by the Philippine authorities.

The ministry said those Malaysians requiring consular assistance might contact the Malaysian Embassy at at 00 (632) 662 8200 / 00 (63) 917 864 0761 (after working hours) or email at [email protected].

Early Friday, it was reported 36 people were killed in a Manila casino following an attack by the gunman who fired shots from an assault rifle and set fire to gaming tables. – Bernama
