LIMBANG: Police arrested a drug addict and seized RM1,500 worth of Syabu after raiding a shed at Bangkuati Road here on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old suspect from Lawas was detained at 3pm by a team from the district Narcotics Crime Investigation Division following a tip-off.

District police chief Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said police confiscated roughly 8.5 grammes of Syabu from the suspect, which had been concealed in two transparent packets and hidden inside a sling bag and a small zipped bag.

“Urine tests found the suspect positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he told reporters yesterday, adding that the suspect was believed to have only recently begun utilising the shed for his drug-related activities.

The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) and  Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
