KUCHING: Hope Place recently fulfilled the wish of a mother-of-five, Isah Bohari, for her children to have new school uniforms.

Its founder Kelvin Wan said Isah made the wish during a recent visit by Hope Place to deliver rations to her family.

The full-time housewife had said she wanted her children to be cheerful for this coming  Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Wan said he relayed Isah’s wish to a few friends, and they donated two sets of school uniforms, shoes and socks for the children.

“All the kids were so happy when they saw their new school uniforms and shoes. Hope Place also handed over five new mattresses to Isah,” he said.

Wan said Isah still wished that someone can help repair the family home since the roof leaks during heavy downpours while the floor has several holes in it.

The toilet room is also in danger of collapsing.

On Isah’s family, he said Isah’s husband is earning a small income which is not enough to support the family.

Isah’s two handicapped brothers Posa and Mohammad also live in the house, but it was learnt that only Posa receives monthly welfare assistace.

Isah’s family is one of more than 170 families supported by Hope Place.
